Black and White, colors that totally differs from each other.
Black, an absolute, no others but black.
White, represents innocence, but it will easily lose its identity once it blends with the others.
Black & White@VARIATION focuses on humanity and environment.

When we are facing world disasters, either natural or man-made, how do we look at our own future?

Have a look at how Dua Space Dance Theatre brings you this topic in Black & White@VARIATION.

The World in Black and White -- by Mok Shi Lynn

大马首本舞蹈杂志《Just Dance!》刊登了舞蹈评论《The World in Black and White》!内容描述作者观看舞团现代舞作品《黑白·变》后的感想,也对作品内容深入地描写。一下段落摘要让舞团极为感动,在此与大家分享!

Malaysia's 1st Dance Magazine published a dance review describing on our latest release of contemporary dance, . The adapted paragraph reallt touches our heart and makes us so encouraged! Here we share this article with you!

"Black & White @ VARIATION was an incredible combination of creativity, artistry, storytelling and technical proficiency. The prolific use of balloons was certainly a first for the Just Dance! team, and the pop opera music accompaniment was evocative and compelling.

What truly stood out was the dancers’ technical abilities. It was clear five minutes into the performance that the dancers were very well trained, with strong foundations, in technique that did not overshadow artistry or the overall story. Even having watched and been impressed by performances from Dua Space Dance Theatre in the past, the skill of the dancers still took me by surprise. Each one of the dancers has a strong, fit body. They are brimming with confidence and, most importantly, passion.

Aman Yap truly is a master of his craft. His skill and presence was such that you could not take your eyes off him when he was on stage. His movements, particularly in part three, were incredibly fast, sharp and hard-hitting, yet clean and masterfully controlled.

The costumes, hair and makeup, stage lighting (very creative use of spotlights), music and, of course, balloons, all came together to create a highly memorable performance. It was truly an awesome production from Aman Yap and Anthony Meh – the creative force behind Black & White @ VARIATION. Thanks to people like them and their team of dancers, there is hope yet for the performing arts scene in Malaysia."
